Accountant cum Cost Control Manager

Role Overview
We are a growing multi-outlet restaurant group seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant cum Cost Control Manager. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with cost control and analysis, ensuring that our 4 outlets operate efficiently and profitably. The ideal candidate will come with strong knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and multi-outlet accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Maintain accurate books of accounts for all outlets (sales, purchases, expenses, petty cash).
- Reconcile daily sales (POS, delivery platforms, cash & card collections) with bank deposits.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports (P&L by outlet, cash flow statements).
- Handle supplier invoices, payments, and credit management.
- Assist in payroll processing and statutory compliance (EPF/ETF, taxes, etc.).
Cost Control & Analysis
- Track food cost percentage (COGS) daily/weekly across all outlets.
- Work with outlet managers and chefs to monitor usage, wastage, and pilferage.
- Standardize recipe costing and update price cards for all menu items.
- Highlight variance between budgeted and actual food costs.
- Recommend corrective actions to reduce wastage and improve margins.
Reporting & Systems
- Implement cost control systems for purchasing, inventory, and portioning.
- Conduct monthly stock counts and reconcile with records.
- Present actionable insights to management on profitability, cost leaks, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial SOPs and audit requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Part or fully qualified in Accounting (CIMA, ACCA, AAT, CA, CMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in F&B, restaurant chains, or hotels.
- Proven track record in food cost control, recipe costing, and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally/QuickBooks/Xero) and MS Excel.
- Experience with POS integrations and delivery platform reconciliations preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
