THE KIP is a prestigious establishment renowned for delivering exceptional experiences to our guests. We are dedicated to excellence and are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance department.
The Opportunity
This is a key role within our finance team, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of critical financial operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry's unique financial landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax computations and submissions, including VAT, APIT, NBT, and WHT.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card settlements, and ledger accounts regularly.
- Process payroll and ensure accurate calculation of overtime, service charges, and employee deductions.
- Maintain and manage inventory costing and control systems specific to F&B operations.
- Prepare daily revenue reports and assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls and company policies.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and relevant government authorities as required.
- Utilize our ERP and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) to its full potential for efficient financial management.
Who We Are Looking For
- A fully qualified accountant (CA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years specifically within the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Current resident within a 35km radius of Ahangama.
- Hands-on experience in handling Sri Lankan tax regulations, specifically VAT and APIT filing.
- High proficiency in accounting software; advanced skills in QuickBooks, Xero, or a similar ERP system are essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala (and/or Tamil).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
