Honest Greens is Sri Lanka's leading indoor vertical-farming company. We design our own lighting and farm-OS, operate state-of-the-art facilities, and supply premium leafy greens to supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, airlines, and home-delivery customers. We're scaling fast and strengthening our finance team.
Role Overview
You'll own day-to-day accounting, ensure timely and accurate books, support monthly closes and management reporting, and keep the company compliant with all statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger end-to-end: AP/AR, invoicing, receipts, payment vouchers, and journals.
- Perform daily bank and cash reconciliations; control petty cash.
- Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and supporting schedules.
- Drive cost accounting for farm production and manufacturing (BOMs, yield and variance analysis).
- Manage inventory accounting: GRNs, stock counts, and reconciliations.
- Handle tax compliance and filings (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT) and liaise with authorities as needed.
- Process payroll and statutory contributions (EPF/ETF) accurately and on time.
- Maintain the fixed-asset register, depreciation, and capex documentation.
- Prepare vendor and customer statements; support credit control and collections.
- Assist with trade-finance and import/export documentation (LCs, shipping/clearance paperwork).
- Coordinate audits and external auditor requests; refine internal controls and SOPs.
- Use ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks/Xero/Odoo) and Excel to automate reports and MIS dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and legal requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- CA/ACCA/CIMA (part-qualified or fully qualified) or equivalent; AAT with strong experience considered.
- 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience; manufacturing/FMCG/agri exposure is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of an ERP/accounting system.
- Meticulous, deadline-driven, and a strong communicator (English; Sinhala/Tamil an advantage).
- Able to travel to Dankotuwa as required; immediate availability preferred.
