Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Associate to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing accurate financial records of our clients, supporting VAT compliance, assisting with management accounts, and year-end accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of our clients using accounting software such as VT Transactions and QuickBooks Online.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and other ledgers regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with tax regulations in the UK.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and provide support to senior accountants during year-end procedures.
- Liaise professionally with clients to collect necessary documentation and resolve queries promptly.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with UK tax laws and accounting standards.
Requirements
- Entry-level experience in an accounting or finance role is preferable.
- Basic understanding of UK tax regulations, particularly VAT and MTD requirements would be desirable, though not compulsory.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with great attention to detail is expected.
- Ability to communicate in the English language effectively and professionally with clients and team members.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work under deadlines.
- A relevant accounting qualification or working towards one is preferred.
