Key Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a results-driven and technically skilled professional to join our team as a Factory Engineer at our Kaduwela factory. The selected candidate will oversee engineering operations, ensuring reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth operation of machinery and equipment across the factory.
- Plan and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Co-ordinate installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Monitor energy usage and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and audit requirements.
- Provide engineering support for continuous improvement projects.
- Train and guide technical staff on best practices and new technologies.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
Education
- B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Professional certifications in engineering or maintenance management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- More than 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of factory engineering processes, machinery, and utilities.
- Hands-on experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Work experience in the latex industry will be an added advantage.
