Logistics Analyst - Internship

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Data analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets related to logistics activities, including transportation costs, inventory levels, and delivery times.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement changes to enhance processes like distribution, inventory management, and routes schedules.
- Reporting: Prepare and present operational reports and metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, fulfillment rates, and inventory turns.
- Database management: Maintain and update databases containing logistics information, including fleet data.
- Cost reduction: Analyze product movement from raw materials to final delivery to find ways to lower costs.
- Transportation management: Monitor and communicate with fleet management, including contract manufacturers, and improve routes using GPS and other software.
- Forecasting and planning: Develop models for demand forecasting and cost estimating to support strategic planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as supply chain management, business, logistics, or industrial engineering.
- Analytical and technical skills: Strong mathematical, statistical analysis, and complex problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings, create reports, and advise managers on logistics topics.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous organizational skills to track data, maintain records, and identify issues in logistics operations.
- Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues, think critically about potential solutions, and implement the best course of action.
