Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials (natural/synthetic rubber, carbon black, chemicals, etc.).
- Issue purchase orders, negotiate prices, and manage procurement contracts in line with company policies.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with production, R&D, and quality control teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier databases.
- Evaluate inventory levels and plan reorders accordingly.
- Handle procurement of capital goods, tools, and spares for plant operations.
- Ensure cost control without compromising quality and timely availability.
- Stay updated on market trends, commodity prices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ESG standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- More than 5 years of procurement experience with strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) materials, equipment, and suppliers.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in SAP/ERP systems and MS Office.
- Good understanding of the raw material supply chain for tyre production.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and contracts simultaneously.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and procurement activities simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of international sourcing and import procedures.
- Experience in cost estimation and budgeting.
- Exposure to ISO/TS standards and compliance.
