Project Coordinator

The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to implement a donor-funded project addressing Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) in Sri Lanka. This project is supported by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day project implementation in line with the approved workplan and budget.
  • Track progress against milestones, outputs, and timelines.
  • Organise project meetings, trainings, consultations, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Support timely reporting and updates on project activities.
  • Report to the Project Lead.

Person Specifications and Qualifications

  • A recognised degree in public health, social sciences, development studies, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in project coordination or programme management, preferably within SRHR, GBV, gender equality, or human rights-based programmes.
  • Proven experience managing donor-funded projects and preparing reports for international donors.
  • Demonstrated capacity to support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), including data collection, validation, and reporting against donor indicators.
  • Strong organisational, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience working with government institutions and multi-stakeholder partnerships is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with IPPF, DFAT, or other bilateral or multilateral donor policies and procedures is desirable.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, ethics, risk management, PSEAH, child protection, and GESI principles, particularly in sensitive FGM/C programming contexts.
