Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented RAN Support Engineer to join our NOC team in Sri Lanka. This role is the first line of support for monitoring and maintaining the health of the Radio Access Network (RAN), ensuring high network availability and service continuity.
Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring:
- Actively monitor and troubleshoot RAN components (e.g., eNodeB, gNodeB) via Nokia NetAct.
- Monitor RAN infrastructure alarms using tools like Zabbix and TMS.
- Maintain a fixed-hour NOC roster, remaining available for urgent matters.
- Fault & Incident Management:
- Detect, log, and analyze faults or outages across RAN and Transport domains.
- Perform Tier 1 diagnosis and remote troubleshooting of mobile network issues.
- Analyze alarm patterns to identify root causes and prevent duplicate escalations.
- Raise and manage trouble tickets, escalating as appropriate.
- Acknowledge and resolve incidents promptly in line with defined SLA.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams for timely issue resolution.
- Raise proactive alarms based on threshold breaches.
- Ensure all faults and incidents are logged, tracked, and closed within SLA timelines.
- Escalate critical or unresolved issues as needed.
- Change Management Support:
- Assist during planned network changes or maintenance windows.
- Monitor network behavior during and after changes.
- Provide rollback support in case of failure during upgrades/config changes.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Provide timely updates on incident status and resolution progress.
- Maintain detailed logs of issues and resolutions.
- Prepare comprehensive Incident Reports and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents.
- Create and update technical documentation for ongoing operations.
- Generate monthly alarm reports in accordance with customer agreements.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or Equivalent (Master's degree is a plus).
- Experience with major vendors such as Nokia.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
