This role involves teaching both full-time and part-time learners across various environments.
Responsibilities
- Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging ESOL lessons tailored to learners' needs.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess learner skills and maintain accurate records.
- Curriculum and Course Development: Contribute to the design and development of ESOL courses.
- Learner Support: Provide individual guidance to learners facing challenges.
- Classroom Management: Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with ESOL teaching methodologies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and external agencies.
- Compliance and Administration: Ensure adherence to institutional policies and complete administrative tasks.
- Community and Outreach: Engage with local communities to support ESOL initiatives.
- Preparation for Cambridge ESOL Examinations: Design focused preparation sessions for exam success.
- Conduct Workshops: Plan and conduct ESOL workshops or short courses independently.
Requirements
- University degree or Diploma in Education and Training (DET) with a focus on ESOL.
- Experience teaching in a further education environment.
- Familiarity with various teaching settings, including commercial and community groups.
