Ceylon Agro Industries Limited (CAI) is located in Seeduwa and manufactures and supplies a range of wheat, poultry, and dairy-based value-added food products. CAI is home to some of the island's most well-known and loved household brands, such as Prima KottuMee, Prima Stella, Prima Treats, and Prima Sunrise.
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and execute all civil engineering works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure projects are completed within timelines and budgets.
- Prepare, review, and verify civil drawings, BOQs, measurements, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments for smooth project execution.
- Ensure quality control of civil works and compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and identify corrective actions for any deviations or defects.
- Manage maintenance, repair, and improvement of civil structures, buildings, roads, and drainage systems.
- Prepare progress reports, technical documents, and site records.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Professional membership (IE(SL) / IESL / equivalent) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in civil construction/industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge of civil engineering standards, drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare construction drawings and plans.
- Good knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality control procedures.
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and reporting skills in English and Sinhala.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD or similar software).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
