Position Overview
The Mahaweli Consultancy Bureau (MCB) is seeking qualified and dynamic professionals to serve as Deputy Program Leaders for its six high-impact strategic programs. These roles are vital to the implementation of MCB's long-term development strategy, focusing on income generation, innovation, reputation building, and institutional strengthening.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the overall leadership and implementation of the assigned strategic program.
- Assist in the development of annual work plans, budgets, and performance indicators.
- Facilitate program-level research, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor program activities, prepare progress reports, and recommend course corrections.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external partners, and consultants as required.
- Ensure alignment of program deliverables with MCB's strategic vision and ROI targets.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Competitive bidding and procurement processes
- Proposal writing for local and international donor-funded projects
- Business development, marketing, and entrepreneurship support
- Organizational governance and institutional development
- Innovative business concept design and implementation
- CSR strategy development and community engagement initiatives
- Strong analytical, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake field visits when required.
Work Location
Based in Colombo with periodic travel to project sites.
Age Limit
Applicants must be below 45 years of age as of 01st October 2025.
Remuneration
