Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of people and property by preventing and minimizing fire risks and other hazards.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain fire safety policies and evacuation procedures.
- Conduct regular fire drills and training for staff.
- Ensure fire detection and suppression systems are upgraded and in good working order.
- Liaise with Fire Departments and emergency services.
- Identify workplace hazards and assess risks.
- Develop safe work procedures and enforce the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts or conditions.
- Promote occupational health and hygiene practices.
- Monitor workplace conditions that might affect health (noise, lighting, ergonomics).
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards.
- Monitor and manage waste disposal, emissions, and pollution control.
- Promote sustainable practices within the organization.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Professional qualification, preferably a degree, in fire prevention, Occupational Safety, Health & Environment from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar capacity in a Manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards related to Health, Safety, and Environment Management.
- Caring on human health, safety, and concern for the protection of the environment.
- Ability to train others.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Should be physically fit.
