Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, well-presented food for both café and retreat service.
- Maintain consistent standards of taste, portioning, and plating across all meals.
- Oversee all ordering, stock control, and supplier communication.
- Ensure food costs stay within budget and reduce waste where possible.
- Manage dietary requirements for retreat guests in coordination with the retreat team.
- Oversee hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety — ensuring checklists are completed and followed.
- Train and motivate your team, helping to maintain a positive kitchen culture.
- Work closely with the Café Manager and wider team to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in a Head Chef or equivalent leadership role.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Formal culinary training or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong team management and organisational skills.
- Based near Ahangama.
- Excellent food hygiene and safety knowledge.
- Confident managing budgets, costs, and kitchen systems.
- Calm, tidy, respectful, and passionate about great food.
- A strong understanding of — and alignment with — the Soul & Surf ethos.
Benefits
