Job Description
The Host Family Coordinator (HFC) is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing support of host families for Peace Corps Trainees and Volunteers. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, security, and cultural integration of Peace Corps participants.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate host family programs, ensuring all placements meet Peace Corps standards.
- Provide orientation and training for host families.
- Support volunteers and trainees throughout their stay.
- Handle administrative and logistical tasks related to host family placements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in community development, education, or program coordination.
- At least 1 year of experience living or working in rural areas of Sri Lanka.
- Excellent communication skills in English, Tamil, and Sinhala.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel and work in rural communities approximately 50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in organizing administration/logistics at an NGO or school.
- Familiarity with Sri Lanka’s education system and local government structures.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation.
