Double XL is a leading and well-established plus-size fashion brand in Sri Lanka. We are seeking a highly experienced Manager – Merchandising to lead and manage the end-to-end merchandising function.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end production planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Allocate production volumes across suppliers based on capacity, performance, lead times, and cost competitiveness.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers.
- Own product costing processes, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and margin optimization.
- Negotiate pricing with fabric, trim, and garment suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Monitor production costs against budgets and take corrective actions where required.
- Lead fabric sourcing and trim sourcing, ensuring materials meet quality, sustainability, design, and cost requirements.
- Identify and develop new suppliers and sourcing opportunities in line with market trends and business needs.
- Prepare and present regular management reports covering production status, costs, margins, supplier performance, risks, and timelines.
- Work closely with Design, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure seamless cross-functional coordination.
- Support management decision-making with accurate data, insights, and production forecasts.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
- Degree or professional qualification in Merchandising.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in apparel merchandising and production management.
- Proven experience in a senior or managerial role, leading end-to-end production and merchandising functions.
- Results-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to quality and brand standards.
