Position Overview
The Programme Assistant will provide effective and efficient support to the Program team to ensure smooth program delivery. This role involves planning and coordination of team activities and will report to the Program Officer, aligning with SAP strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing Loan/Credit applications and maintain an efficient filing system.
- Record, update, and revise data on loans/credit granted, recoveries, and defaults under the SMED program.
- Prepare periodic reports on SMED.
- Provide data and information on loan/credit recoveries to the Chief Accountant for Bank Reconciliation Statements.
- Prepare status reports for monthly meetings with Field Coordinators, including taking minutes.
- Assist in preparing reports for the Annual Audit.
- Support Program Officers in project formulation, monitoring, and evaluations.
- Participate in field visits as necessary.
- Maintain the monitoring system of SMED beneficiaries to ensure objectives are met.
- Perform any other functions assigned by Program Officers and Senior Management.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- University or equivalent first degree in social sciences or development studies.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in development-oriented work and administrative support.
- Knowledge in GIS, PRA, and Participatory Planning is an advantage.
- Good communication and presentation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to changes and demands.
General Conditions
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Age below 40 years preferred.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in digital tools and capable of preparing reports in English.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
Salary
Negotiable, based on qualifications and experience.
